Qualia proposes that the virtual will manifest itself in the physical through nanotechnology. As the migration to the digital transpires, the physical world will gain prestige. We embrace the notions of individuality, sensory experience, and maintaining our idea of humanity in a future that is predominantly artificial. The constant activity of the virtual will accumulate into layers of hard and soft crystalline structures; our new virtual existence is contained within these crystal architectures localized around the individual. This will become the materiality of our physical world, while our social and material needs will be catered for through the virtual.
